Devil of Hell's Kitchen Overhaul: Thoughts?

Which dimension do you think they will focus on? His damage, utility, even synergies?

What would you like to see in his kit?

And lastly, do you think they will do good enough of a job to land him amongst the greats? I sure as Hell hope so.

They sould definetely give him a passive like nf for both evades and miss in my opinion. A controllable evade and high perfect block chance, vulnerability and sth like for his lawyer skills like sth unique like what she hulks description says

But back to your post, I think he's going to have a mix of utility and damage that will make him viable for all sorts of content. Being a skill champion, I can see him becoming an evade and autoblock counter, in addition to being a miss counter which he is already. He may also have a way to purify debuffs, like other skill champions, to make him more sustainable. I'd like to see maybe a 50% chance to perfect block to make him more sustainable if he's not going to have any immunities or regeneration. He could maybe also have an awakened ability where each fight he finishes, he increases his attack by X amount to make his damage really really good.

Edit: I missed your last question. I think they will make him one of the greats because of 2 reasons. 1. It is an OVERHAUL. Overhauls are supposed to be the biggest buffs. Look at Colossus, Magneto, and Hulkbuster. They are all gods now. Daredevil Netflix should be one too. 2. Daredevil Netflix is a skill champ in a class that is lagging behind big time. A fresh, new powerful Daredevil Netflix could really bring life back to the skill class.

Hopefully they focus on everything given that it is an overhaul. Given the fact that Colossus, Red Magneto, and Hulkbuster all got really good buffs (overhauls), I feel that it is safe to assume that this pattern will resume and that DHK will be amongst the best. Also, he is a really popular character with an amazing netflix series so I hope his buff reflects this.

What I assume they'll do is give him some version of True Accuracy, first and foremost. That is the only thing I'm pretty sure of, but his depiction on the show is also able to take a pretty heavy beating and keep going, and when he does get knocked down, he spends a lot of time meditating and heals quickly. So they'll probably give him a high block proficiency, but it would be cool if they also gave him some kind of meditation-based regen mechanic, maybe by idling or some kind of pre-fight ability on his sig. Something like Torch's sig ability, where each fight he has a chance to proc regen and the chance increases each time he doesn't or something. (I would call this ability "Born Again" even though the comics DD should get that to be honest.) That probably won't happen though.

He's also going to need some cool synergies with Kingpin and with the other Defenders.

He should have really high block proficiency, true accuracy/true strike, huge crits and damage and some good utility. Hopefully his synergies are good but are not necessary to make him insanely good

Maybe they'll give him a Justice mechanic where he can take advantage of #Villain champions the same way Magneto takes advantage of #Metal champions.

I would be very surprised if he didn’t have true sense. That new buff Roblin has that allows him to bypass evade and miss, but not auto block, resistances or armour. Would fit perfectly in his kit. Aside from that, high block proficiency, huge crits, armour breaks, maybe some trauma debuffs. Concussion would be nice

Tbh, they would need to rework his basic attack animations for him to be playable for me. His combo hits are markedly slower than other champs and his final medium kick takes about 2.5 seconds to execute:) I hope that will be tuned up?

Yeah, I agree with this. Instead of evading projectiles/basic attacks I would prefer if DHK would just autoblock (with a high perfect block chance). Also really hope he includes his batons in his animations and all specials

Maybe this could work for when opponents are about to use specials or dash forward, their heartbeat rises and you can avoid them and when they are about to dash back, their heartbeat decreases. So basically u know what the ai will do before it actually does it

I can see him having resistance to bleed or some DOT's, maybe like tenacity since one of his things is that he fights while bleeding or very badly injured and still persists

Maybe he could have two states: Attorney & Vigilante.

In his Attorney state, he could use his vast knowledge & critical thinking to hinder his opponent.

In his Vigilante state, he could combine his ninja & brawler fighting styles to devastating effect.

His mechanics would work in the following way:

Devil of Hell's Kitchen places Lawsuit charges on the opponent. He can stack up to 7 Lawsuit charges before you decide how to deal with them.

You want to take it to court? Fire off an SP3 when in Attorney mode to convert all Lawsuit charges into a realistic assortment of tactical debuffs (Slow, Weakness, Enervate). He could also gain an Aptitude buff here to prolong the debuffs.

You want to take it to the streets? Fire off an SP3 when in Vigilante mode to convert all Lawsuit charges into a realistic assortment of damage debuffs (Armour Break, Disorient, Concussion). He could also gain a Cruelty or Fury buff here to enhance the damage.

To switch from one state to another, use a Heavy attack (also makes room for a Catholic Guilt easter egg when switching out of Vigilante mode).

Just a thought.
