I'm sorry for sounding like a noob (which I am), but VtD seems objectively better than his predecessor. Why's he still preferred?

Venom's heavy attack gives the player ability to rotate between the buffs which VtD is missing.
VtD's rng dependent buffs and no control over them makes him less fun to play compared to Venom.
Venom doesn't require rampup in multiple fights.
Venom has more utility compared to VtD.
