Who to use generic gem on?

With the side event offering a generic gem, I’ll finally be able to awakening 1 of two (I think) worthy candidates. 1.Hyperion 2.Blade but I just don’t know who I should use it on any suggestions?

Hyperion is far more useful in the current state of the game. While Blade's sig is nice he simply isn't as useful a champ in the vast majority of endgame content. Also, hype has the added bonus of not needing any sigs at all apart from the initial gem.

Hyperion, he doesn't rely on synergies or a high sig level

Hyperion is better out of the two. But maybe you have someone that is good but quite useless without the awakened ability, like Aegon? If not, then Hyperion is definitely worth the generic.
