Just a thought, I'm sure root is coming back in some form but hopefully not in new content. However, a simple win would be the idea of a re-release of all of book one; with original rewards but the root nodes, different one per act and champion restrictions;
1* only act 1, 1 and 2* into act 2 etc.
Yeah there isn't a great deal for act 1 to 3 original rewards so maybe swap those little nexus crystals for rare champs, such as a 3* weapon x. A big prize would be getting those mastery points again from act 4.
