Seeing all the awakening gems that the side quests have been giving out in 2020 and hopefully in 2021, I'd have gone with thing just because he would've been new(also because I have a rank 4 thing and used him for everything before I got a quake)

Awekening gems r getting much more common. So maybe it was better to get the thing. But in u r situation, I would also go for archangel. He is one of the immortal insanity in the game (other being hyperion).

Always go for the new champion, especially if it's a 5 star because they are easier to acquire. Also, know that there is a three step process: 1. Acquiring the champ, 2. Awakening the champ, 3. Adding Sig levels. I know AA is better awakened but I wouldn't turn down Thing. Take this as a lesson for future pulls. Peace.
