Gifting

So I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but here it goes. I play this game as well as my son's. When I purchased gifts to send them. Kabam took the units, and never sent the gifts. My sons are not far in the game, however if they were not eligible for the gifting for some reason, why take the units?
