Don't worry, LS is better for the easy path than Doom anyways. I played like sh*t on my run and unnecessary died several times due to my not knowing the interaction between suicides and boosts. I still only used 4k units. Take that as you will.
You really don`t need anything over 8k. If you bring that you are as save as you can get. I did my run during christmas and in total I used 8k. But I nuked aegon vs thing with a bunch of 20% revives to just build up a combo. I did it with symbiote instead of LS but should be very similar. I did a nuke method met Aegon vs Mordo, and didn`t bother learning the Cyclops fight and just nuked it with aegon aswell. If you play those 3 fights with their good counter and with skill you will save 50 revives easily. But you will never get nervous because you have too little units or items. And will make the run much more relaxed.
You don`t need 8k units persee, if you already have items substract that from the 8k. Every 6 lv3 potions equals 28 units. And every revives equals 40. I didn't count boosts, but did count mastery changes, if you choose to go with suicides.
I know I am highballing with the unit needs. But I feel it is better to have a BIG buffer and be relaxed the whole quest than it is to contantly look at your units if 1 or 2 fights just didn`t go as planned.
Note: 8k is the absolute top of safety. And taking into account you are planning to nuke some fights instead of using skill. I feel 5k is a safe bet if you intent to use skill (and have skill) for every fight.

If you are wondering if your damage is good enough with them here is an example (I know this is Path 2/the example is just for damage)
That was around 870k hp
