Hypothetical battle, who would win? Phoenix Vs Scarlet Witch

So I've just finished watching "X-men: Apocalypse" and while watching it I realised the very strong similarities between Jean and Wanda. Both characters are very strong telepaths and they share very similar scenes - they both take on and dominate the final villain of the film after everyone else has grouped together to try and stop them and failed. (We will ignore the fact that Wanda was interrupted by an airstrike)

Anyway, then I started wondering, who is the more powerful of the two? Who would win in a 1v1 battle? So that's what I'm here to ask, who would best the other in combat, Phoenix or Scarlet Witch?

I've only watched the film's so I'm waiting for some comic fan to come in like "actually they've already fought 17658 times and...."

So literal hell. I will stay well clear then.
No matter anyones opinion of the plot or certain characters Mcavoy and Fassbender (Prof X and magneto) are absolutely amazing in all of them with some beautiful moments together. Not to mention the quicksilver scenes which while brief steal the show and are in my mind the best speedster scenes ever put in any comic movie.

But they have flaws certainly ill adamantly say that 2/4 best x men movies (first class and days of future past) are from the new cast/movies along with logan and x2
McAvoy and Fassbender are the standouts. Everyone else is really forgettable. Jessica Chastains character (the entire species really) is stupid, and Mystiques death is... just kinda there. And sidelining Evan Peters? Bad idea.

First Class and DOFP were actually pretty good Apocalypse was decent (should of been way better), dark phoenix was terrible. But I'm going to assume we are talking about comics in which case Phoenix takes the W.

I personally don't feel that we can compare the movie versions of these characters as they are 2 totally separate franchises (or were before Disney bought Fox). The Fox movies have taken severe liberties in their depictions of the X-men while the MCU is much closer to the source material. So we have yet to see what a MCU Phoenix/Jean Grey would be capable of.

So the only place that I feel they can be compared is in the comics themselves. And even then that's a tough one to tackle as there have been so many different incarnations and power levels of both characters. But if it's Jean Grey with the full on Phoenix Force, I'd have to give it to her, as she is a Cosmic entity who has consumed an entire star system just for the pleasure of doing it.

In A vs X comic it is shown that scarlet witch is resistant to the phoenix and can hurt the host of the phoenix due to her chaos magic. And in the end of the comic this happens:

It's not that she's more powerful than phoenix. She is not. But the nature of her powers makes Phoenix susceptible against her.

First Class is my favorite X-Men film. Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix were okay mainly because of the actors.

It would likely be Scarlet Witch.
Not only she has class advantage, but she can also nullify Phoenix fury buffs, as well as applying power locks here and there in order to keep her power control.
And while being hit, she could end up applying poison debuffs to Phoenix, which she isn't immune to. Is kinda of a defensive ability going on favor of SW here, while Phoenix doesn't have too much going on for her defensively.

Watching the whole movie for those scenes is a pain. I would recommend only watching these scenes instead of the whole movie.

Since the discussion has turned to X-men movies, I’ve recently seen DoFP and Apoc on D+ And enjoyed them both. Are there any others I should watch sometime (and an order in which to watch them; I have no clue what the timeline is based on the titles)?
Honestly, if you liked those ones, I would watch the whole series in order.

X3 (don’t remember the name, but 3rd original sequel)
First Class
DoFP
AoA
Dark Phoenix
That’s the ones I remember, could be missing a few. I also highly recommend Logan. It wasn’t well received, but I thought it was an awesome Wolverine movie.

Logan has an 8.1 imdb rating and 90% rottentomatoes score so I wouldn’t say it wasn’t well received. Even when it came out, everyone I knew and on the forums loved it so much. In my opinion, it’s the best X-Men movie out of all.

Now, it depends on the state of its wielder, lets consider Jean Grey:

Phoenix - would be a tough fight, but I believe SW would emerge victorious

Dark Phoenix - I would call it a tie, SW's only chance of winning would be to have insanely precise control over her abilities. That might theoretically give SW a chance of winning

White Phoenix - not a chance. This Phoenix would wipe the floor w SW.

Also, idk how much can SW survive in space? Because Phoenix I am pretty sure can.

Scarlet witch has the power to bend reality to her will, and correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t she already kill her with the whole “no more mutants” thing? I’m sure the answer will differ between different storylines and different ways you look at the question, but this is my opinion.
