My suspicion is that the devs just didn't get to it yet. With all the stuff they announced in the dev diaries, there was bound to be instances of things slipping or getting pushed for various development reasons.

Also, I don't think you're parsing the quote correctly. It says they are still trying to make the original timeline, which was stated in the original dev diary to be "late 2020/early 2021" but they also say it is possible given development challenges that they might have to push that a quarter. I would interpret that as being in the April to June timeframe. In the meantime, they said they would try to "make improvements along the lines of the Wish Crystal for the original timeline of late 2020, early 2021 if we have to delay."

From this, I would assume that their original target was either end of 2020 (which has passed) or Q1 of 2021 which is between January and March of 2021 and thus still ongoing. If they can't deliver by March, they will try to do something else of a similar nature that is deliverable by March, with the idea of trying to deliver the Wish crystal in the timeframe of April to June.

I actually quit the game last year (April-July) because the general outlook of the game was really bad and the toxicity was high. I wasn't even Uncollected then but I felt that the game has no future. Everyone at the higher tiers are stressed about AQ and AW, Act 6 exploration was horrible, and Act 7 Beta was supposed to be going in the same direction. I thought to myself don't wanna play a game just to be stressed, so I quit. I also know of some players who quit the game during those period. Kabam realized it and that is why we have a better game now after the Roadmaps. It was the Roadmaps that brought me back to this game.

I'm having fun now but it's just sad that I have to see Tamagotchi guy in the forums. Lol.
