so I just r4d my proffessor x and I really like him but i feel like I'm not playing him effectively. also sometimes when I dash back after specials if I do it too early then the prowess doesn't refresh? I'd just like some tips and best rotation advice. I have also heard he is good for the grandmaster

Here is a small breakdown. At the start of the fight I prefer to fire off specials at 1.9 bars of power rather than 2.5, this will get you 7 prowess, I prefer it as I can get into the rotation faster.

When I play professor X, after special attacks I like to immediately do a very short block animation and then charge heavy for a very short time then launch my special which will get you the double prowess, same method beroman uses.
So always tap block even for a fraction of a second the heavy, and heavy cancel to special.

He has the easiest access to miss counter and evade counter in the game at 25 channeling charges he ignores both of those (except against tech.) His attacks are non contact (except first medium and first hit of sp2), and also all energy based meaning he is a fantastic korg counter, also he counters thorns and electro etc since his attacks do not make contact.

Similar to Quake he will not always need immunities because he does not make contact, for example Ibom and abom will never place a poison on him, and morningstar will never bleed him.

He also is one of the only champions immune to reverse controls making him viable for delerium, Gm, special chaos inversion, emma frost etc.

Professor X also as well has very high block proficiency, perfect parries with guardian.

He is a great counter for aegis intercept, abyss luke cage, dngg or any nodes that require you to intercept due to his falter intercept which acts similar to ghosts.

One of the best things about mind control is they are special locked and power locked, so professor X can totally control the fight for a long time and not worry about them using his specials.

His utility is like no other, and his damage is insane.

I recommend watching beroman videos as he is the best professor X player, MSD has a great breakdown as well.

In terms of dupe ability, no he does not need it, it just makes fights faster / better prowess dmg. he has the easiest access to miss + evade counter.

I have a pretty in depth and write up on how to use Professor X on the forum. Check it out if you’d like :)

Here are my 3 vids on him on YouTube so far, soloing Rhino in 7.1, soloing Green goblin in 7.1 and soloing Omega in Abyss with my rank 3 6*.

For you, OP, I’d recommend looking at the Abyss one first, as that’s a very normal professor X fight and it shows you the normal rotation

If you like then start your special cycles from 2.9 bar of power, this way you will get 9 prowess (instead of 6-7) & maximum damage...
Use sp3 to start your sp cycles if you have more than 3 cerebro charges then you will get 4 prowess from only 1 special and these prowess are 20% more potent than regular ones
