How is Spider-Man able to evade Venom? Is this a bug or a mistake in Venom's description?

Venom is one of my favorite R5 5-stars and has been so for a while; aside from being super cool-looking and playing smoothly, he is arguably the best counter to all #Spiderverse champions due to his ability to have "All (of his) attacks ignore Passive Evade effects." I was surprised today when I went into the first part of the first chapter of the new "Corruption" Event Quest and was evaded multiple times by the Spider-man (Classic) boss while using Venom, even when I avoided parrying him which would grant Spider-man an evade charge. I am curious, is this just a bug or was my widdle Eddie weddie nerfed? :'(

I would sincerely appreciate any explanation, thank you!

    Venom only cancels spider mans evade when he has his klytar buff
