Question regarding side quest amd cavelier solo objective

For the cav solo objective we need to defeat shang chi 3 times with a 4* skill champ... does that translate to i can beat up shang chi using any champ down to say 10% and use a 4* skill to finish him off ... will this be considered an exploit.... or i shud use a full team of 4* skill to complete the level or i can use any champ to clear the level but only 4* skill for shamg chi start to finish... some clarity from kabam mods would be nice
