Map 6 Bishop mini

KnightZeroKnightZero Member Posts: 1,450 ★★★★★
Based on the new announcement, Kabam is going to change Bishop on the nodes in Map 5/6/7 and replace them with other defenders.
But what about the Map 6 Bishop mini? If you're telling me that Bishop is a pain on regular nodes and needs to be removed, then surely the mini needs to as well?

Bumping the thread to keep in the front page. Honestly would like an answer to this.

Saw the edit made on the announcement thread.
Thanks for removing Soft Guard. That definitely helps a ton

poor decision to keep bishop as map6 mini.
At least remove his sig ability...
First fight he has unblockable specials before he start with 0 power bars.
second fight if you timed out or died it's even bigger nightmare with him starting with higher power bar.

Add to that the epic modifier and this fight is much bigger pain than it should be.

Not sure you realized how OP his sig ability is as high rating defender.

They already nerfed his Sig ability once.

I would also be curious to know why Kabam felt the need to replace Incinerate Bishop on Map 7, but not Oscillate Bishop.

    where do you see that?
Bishop prepares a unique bonus based on how many bars of Power are full at the start of the fight that last for the remainder of the fight.
With 0 Bars: Special Attacks become Unblockable with a stack of 10 or more Prowess.
With 1 Bar: While Blocking, gain Stun Immunity and enemies lose 80% ability accuracy.
With 2 Bars: Special Attacks have a 100% chance to leave the target Incinerated for 70% of the Special damage over 10 seconds.
With 3 Bars: Start the fight with Steady Release active for 15 seconds.

They made it so if he ends with an SP3, he loses all that power. They did it just before the end of last AQ without acknowledgement. So no steady release immediately for 15 seconds if he nukes you with an SP3, and he doesn't start with any power except for whatever a node might give him. As far as I know, nodes don't contribute to his foresight ability either.

He doesn't need any more changing, you just need to find better ways to deal with him now. There's plenty of options that people have mentioned in a different thread.

First, I haven't seen any announcement so I didn't know.
Unblockable specials when start with 0 power bar is also too strong. Most power controlled champs are using energy hits (on regular hit or on the special hit that drain the power) which just lead to incinerate yourself.

yes, you are right... there are ways to deal with everything and also alliances that run map7 were able to complete the map last AQ with bishop, but "possible" and "fair\balanced fight" are two different things.
if they remove him from paths of other maps, they need to remove him as mini as well because the health\damage pool is what make him OP.

They didn't announce the change which is not a good look to be fair.

You shouldn't be getting incinerated if you're hitting him with energy attacks (unless there's a node) and his Power Overload damage will only hurt if he's Bleeding, Shocked or Incinerated. This means any power control champ that doesn't inflict these effects will be fine. Magik is a prime example, once you get him power locked and at 0 energy it shouldn't be any real issue at all.

Yeah so you have to manage how you deal with him. Another option is Vision as well since Tech champs shouldn't give him a prowess when hit.

I used vision on day two or three last AQ and after my first sp1 i had incinerate on me that killed me in few seconds.

vision and ultron work, as does quake. pun99 too. but he is tough with the epic mods.
Can we deal with bishop? Sure.
Do we want a bishop mini? Not at all.

I can't guarantee this, but they shouldn't - synergies that give him a bar of power at the start of the fight don't interact with Foresight, so nodes shouldn't either.
