Does this have any effect on Void or other petrify champs in matchups against champs like Hyperion?

I mean if they really mean that he wouldn’t be able to reverse power gain, that takes away much of his sig utility

Come on, it says “during certain situations”. How much more clear could it be?

they could make clear what those situations were

My first thought was does this stop void reversing powergain when I read this. Would very much like some clarification on what this means if possible @Kabam Miike

I've been told the patch notes should have read Combat Power Gain, not just Power Gain.

Combat Power Gain, for players who aren't familiar with the term, is the power you gain when you hit the opponent or are hit by the opponent. Combat Power Gain is never supposed to go negative, it is supposed to floor at zero. In other words, you should never be able to debuff combat power gain to the point where hitting the target costs you energy instead of gaining it. Apparently Combat Power Gain did not have a floor, so things that debuffed Combat Power Gain could cause it to go negative and have attacks subtract power instead of gain power (or zero out to no power).

Mr. Negative, for example, can reduce Defensive Combat Power Gain by 60%. If there's some other interaction going on, you could end up with Defensive Combat Power Gain rate below zero, which would mean every time Mr. Negative struck a target they would lose power instead of gain power. Needless to say, this opens the door to all sorts of potential exploits.

Note: to answer the OP, this has nothing to do with effects like Petrify, which affect (normal) Power Gain. All that stuff will still work as expected (or at least should). You will still be able to reverse Power Gain, as in power given by abilities. Just not Combat Power Gain.

For example, Mr. Negative with Mr. Fantastic prefights.
    Got it!

Ahh ok so it will also stop your combat powergain being reversed from one of the AW nodes, if it’s still around.

That'll be the Strike Counter - Combat Power Rate node then.

I've definitely found myself losing power with every hit once or twice, when I've failed to land a Special. Thought it was very annoying, but didn't realise it was bugged.
