Looking for advice for initial clear of Abyss without Aegon

I've been waiting to manage to get a duped 5* or 6* Aegon for some time, but I still haven't been able to, so I want to try to do an initial Abyss clear without him. Before I jump in though, I had some questions in order to prepare myself. Here is my current roster:
Who should I bring on my team for my initial run?
How many units should I save up and how many potions should I grind for?
Is there anything else I should know before jumping in?
