Arena results adjustments due to ban wave?

TreeFiddyTreeFiddy Member Posts: 14
I rarely post here but I felt I needed to seek an answer for this. Due to the recent bans that have been implemented in game will arena results for kitty arena be adjusted?

I try not to let my frustration get the best of me but as someone who spent over 48hours plus money on units just to barely miss a stupidly high cutoff I’m more than a bit irritated. I noticed several names in the top 100 that didn’t seem legit and then to see that several alliances from that top list have in fact suffered bans I don’t understand why cutoffs would not be adjusted to account for cheating?

This has been a rampant issue across the game for a long time and I’m glad something is being done to hold those accountable however those of us that put in the effort are still getting screwed over. In the past you have extended cutoffs to account for such discrepancies to keep it fair for players, and I don’t see why this isn’t being done in this case. AW placements shifted out of fairness why is arena any different?

I have no problem supporting the game with my hard earned money and time, I’m happy to. Even through the bugs I continue to support the game because I enjoy it immensely. However If I feel like I’m being cheated then that is no longer an option.

The game becomes a job and the arena system you’ve built is inherently unfair (and unhealthy but that’s another conversation) but we accept it, what we don’t accept is people still being rewarded for gaming that system while honest players are punished.

Respectfully.

@TreeFiddy I completely agree with that dude. Should be a number that guarantees the champ as cheating pushes it so high

100% agree with OP. Champion acquisition is hard enough, add on cheating and it becomes completely demoralizing

They should, but they generally don't IIRC.

I view this as one of their most egregious practices, oddly enough. To get to a champ in the rank cutoffs, you usually have to spend units on top of an unhealthy amount of time grinding the arena.

That level of dedication (and expenditure) should be rewarded when the fault is clearly on not on the Player's end.

Exactly. This is probably the highest commitment game mode in terms of individual effort.

Gotta laugh when you see COWhale in the tops for new champions through arenas. Too blatantly obvious that he quit via his own YouTube channel…🤦‍♂️

Aye, stopped trying to chase rank reward champions despite having the collection to achieve it, but the thought of active bots just is another story so I’m settling with just getting the milestones.

They don't put the featured champ in a milestone because they only want a limited number of people to get it. It's a game economy issue.

This isn’t a valid argument. I used the 120M milestone as an example but the amount of playing/units it takes to achieve that number is not going to affect the ecosystem. If you don’t grind at all you’ll still wait or buy crystals. If you do grind then you may be more enticed to push.

120m would still limit the amount that get the new champion but you’d still be seeing 1000s compared to 100s. So that would effect the ecosystem.
I don’t want to go too far off the original topic but I’m not sure where you get 1000’s from? Top 500 get at least a 5*, that’s typically around 60/70M. You’d be enticing some of these players to push and use units/money. If you don’t grind it is not likely you will just start grinding to 120M. Not sure if you've done the grind but It’s still a 3 day commitment. It may push it to 100’s into the game but definitely not 1000’s.

Mentally you’d be doing worlds for the player base. You could even add in rank up materials like iso/cats or rank up gem crystals to rank rewards to promote grinding higher. The champ should be the ultimate reward in arena and everything else is bonus. They would need to keep bots in check for sure (this should be done regardless).

You’re not wrong, I’m referring to the fact that the champions in milestones would alone increase people’s will to do the grind. I’d do it every new champ twice, but rn I’ll deal with milestones. It would increase the useage of arenas by simplifying what you have to do. People spend $1k+ on crystals for a new champion and not get them. But if they are in the milestones at a specific milestone they can guarantee to get the champion if they spend a specific amount of units on refresh’s.

It would increase the amount that get the champion by more then you might think unfortunately.

Oh absolutely. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. It plays into kabam’s stated goals of improving QoL and increasing choice in champion acquisition.

Key is making it difficult enough that not everyone is going to want to do it but providing a guarantee for those that are willing. Actual milestones would need to be based off of metrics that we don’t have access to in order to balance crystal purchases, and grinding.

I think we can all agree that 170M is not it.

Right. So I’m all for having the champions in the milestones. It definitely meets QOL goals imo. But how does it look without breaking the economy?

Just spitballing here, if kabam could code it..
Have arena #1 based off rank rewards like now but increase to top 500. Arena #2 the rank rewards are now sig stones for the class of champion in the arena and have the champion in the milestone. What point level? The person that got #500 set the milestone with their points.

So if #500 in arena 1 put up 100m points then in arena 2 the milestone for the 6* is at 100m points. Then the prestige players can still get sig stones and their duped while other players can get the new champion guaranteed once. 🤷‍♂️

But this is the hard part, making it work for QOL and kabam.

There were about 10 names included in the AW ban waves that were also listed in the top 100.

It's like a fraud who after defradung both government (kabam) and individuals (members of the playerbase), he the fraud goes to jail (ban) but keeps his stolen assets (in this case keeps their spot in the rankings). They'll continue doing it. Imagine something shady or buggy happens that allow players to cheese through Abyss. Kabam will take their time and investigate, we may prolly get a fix next update and will not threatened voilaters with bans.

There’s an alliance that had 7 in the top 100

That's nuts. Like why limit punishment to only AW when they have clearly been cheating in other areas of the game as well? Makes no sense.

The punishment itself is a joke.. 7 day ban and they get to keep the stuff the cheated on...
