I’m at a loss for words for this weeks objectives.
Number 1. The resources and effort needed to be put into the Cavalier objectives is so terrible Number 2. The event was bugged so people weren’t getting points. Number 3. People have wasted tons of iso and catalysts just for it all to get shut down.
Outside of SOP (even though that had hiccups as well), this has been an absolutely terrible summer. I can’t even imagine the chaos happening at Kabam to have the constant bugs/issues/terrible objectives/bad drop rates/etc that have been near constant. There seems be zero quality control going on. If I hadn’t sunk money & a LOT of time into this game I’d be long gone.
Your feedback is totally valid, and we're gonna make sure this never happens again. As a reminder, you only need to finish the FIRST tier of any of these objectives in any progression level (that's 10x levels, ranks, or new champions/dupes) to unlock the October Side Event.
This may be moot depending on how you decide to adjust the last set of objectives, but the "you only need to do" advice is actually highly problematic, and has been for the duration of the event, because it doesn't factor in the linked nature of the objectives.
Consider: we've been telling people for a while now you don't need to do all of them, just one of them. But because doing that one objective only unlocks the next one in that tier, what if a player does Proven in one week but discovers that the easiest one for them to do next week is Uncollected due to circumstances? They cannot just do that one objective, because the only way to get it is to go back and do the previous week Uncollected to unlock it.
When the objectives come back, players cannot simply pick one of them and do ten levels of it (or whatever the numbers get changed to be) because most players won't see all of the tiers, because we've been telling people they don't need to do all of them. What if the tier that they see happens to be a tier of champion they aren't in a position to level up? They cannot pick a different tier, because to unlock it they would have had to do the entire chain of that tier prior. So yeah, if the player doesn't have any 3* champs to level up because they are all max level, and they don't have any 5* or 6* champs to level because they are all leveled high enough that they don't have the resources to go farther, they can just level up some 4* champs. IF they had unlocked the entire Proven chain up to now. If not, they would have to go back to that tier and do *all* of the objectives they hadn't done yet.
The fundamental problem here isn't that the objectives are ornery or they focus on problematic activities. That's all true, but this issue goes beyond that. It is that each objective depends on a prior one and Kabam hasn't accounted for the fact that the best tier to do in one week may not be the best tier to do in the next week, but players don't get to arbitrarily choose which tier to do.
If completing any one of the tiers in week one unlocked *all* of the tiers in week two, that would be different. But because completing a tier in week one only unlocks that tier in week two, you can't just tell the players "you only need to do." because that's not true in the general case. They only need to do this, but that requires something else, which requires something else, which requires something else. They have to do them all, and they won't know which ones they need to do until they reach the end, unless they tackle them all to begin with.
This was all true before today, but the rank up objective really crystallizes it in my mind, because while you could make a case that someone doing Proven in week one probably wants to do Proven in week two, when it comes to rank up options that's completely disconnected from progression. Some players don't have the champs necessary for higher tiers, but some also have already ranked up all the options in lower tiers. Even if rank up options exist many will be very problematic for many players, forcing them to do very suboptimal things. This one is very problematic to attach to a progression chain of objectives for that reason. If players were allowed to choose any tier and tackle it, it would still be highly problematic. But if they are funneled into one of them because we told the players "you only need to do one" the odds of running into a problem rise exponentially.

I think you have to unlock October for everyone now. Whether you give objectives prizes or not is an open question, but the issues compound given the way the event was structured. Issue everyone a token and make unlocking entry dependent on that token.
Maybe there’s another way around it that doesn’t involve crafting a new objective, but I’m too tired to think of one.
So, due to a pretty serious bug that is affecting how players are getting points for this event, we're shutting it down. This is also going to give us an opportunity to action on the feedback provided here. We're gonna figure out what we're gonna do and don't have any concrete ideas to share right now.
Thank you for listening, Miike.
I don't usually draw attention to these, but for those who Disagree, would you rather they left it up bugged and didn't listen to what people were saying here? Lol.
They didn't listen or take it down to help people because it was obviously unreasonable and quite honestly stupid, they only took it down because it was bugged and as usual they probably can't figure out how to resolve it in a timely manner if at all.
What this shows is that if they really wanted to they could have taken down previous weeks' requirements that were so poorly received that they had to promise it wouldn't happen again even though it did time and again. If they were actually listening to people like you claim they wouldn't have released this objective at all. Failing that exercise in understanding the game and the players they then would have taken it down as soon as they saw the predictable and obvious reactions that we got the first ridiculous reply to earlier today. They didn't do that either. They only took it down because of a bug.
Stop giving them credit for things they didn't do and don't deserve credit for. This whole event is just mind bogglingly bad and I like many others don't understand how it possibly got approved and released. The designers need to have their responsibilities dropped back down to getting other people coffee or something if they don't want to fire them. They clearly have no idea what they are doing or how the game actually works to play it.
Did they or did they not say they were going to take the time to address the concerns? It's one thing to be upset. It's another to be ignorant to what is being done.
FYI not all objectives have been taken down just the one that started today so you can still complete existing ones
To be clear (because I think there’s some confusion on this point), precisely how many of either of these objectives does someone need to complete to be eligible for the October quest?
I may be mistaken, but I believe these are the corresponding Week 2 objectives for proven and conqueror (although they may be Week 1).
Who else spent 3m gold and tons of class ISO ranking up trash 6*s only for the event to be removed before you could claim shards? The gold hurrrrrts man. It hurts.
I did the same; got to the 5* shard milestone after tons of ISO and 3 million gold spent....and gone. Honestly, I'd have never levelled those 6*s if the event didn't exist (looking at you, super skrull)

Reading the in-game mail, it only mentions that it was taken down because of a bug. Maybe in the forums the message was different, but the mail will reach many more more people and only mentions the bug.
I think the two biggest problems currently are the people who wasted resources trying to level up 6 stars, (a ridiculous amount of gold and iso) and anyone who has been doing the ONLY the upper difficulties.
If you’re one of the people who has only been doing the Cavalier objectives and can’t afford to do this week, you need to go back ALL the way to week one and grind out the lower difficulties, just so you can even UNLOCK next months quest.

I generally hate going there myself, and I don't want to give the impression that I think experimenting with these kinds of objectives is bad in principle, but if I'm in the room and the devs put it to a vote, I'd probably vote that way.
I'd be curious to know what percentage of the players has reached week four completion of at least one tier. If that number is less than say 80% of the percentage of players that does side quests in general, I'd say Kabam would have no choice but to unlock October for everyone. Even that value is squirrely to me, but anything below that value is unquestionably bad news. That would make the September objectives less of an engagement tool and more of a deterrent to playing the October content. That would be untenable.

100% agree. Groups I chat with are hardly representative, but I can attest I’ve got several 100% Abyss/Map 7/Miss No Event types who have barely cracked the objectives. Most of my retired ally mates (who remain active EQ players) have just realized it’s a precursor to October—both anecdotes, but that’s all I have.

Number 1 concern, getting ALL the wasted resources. Solution? RDTs. What they offered so far? That there won’t be any. That’s a huge issue. All the gold. ISO. Catalysts. Gone on champs that people didn’t want to use it on for an objective that gatekept the next months side quest rewards only to then be told “OOPS SORRY”.
Not good enough. Not even close. Doesn’t matter what you say you are wrong. Completely and utterly. No further discussion. Don’t even bother replying.

My only hope is that they revert rank ups and level ups and give back resources used, thereby doing the right thing without giving out rank down tickets.
I’m holding out hope, I may be being a little naively optimistic but I am just going to wait and see how Kabam deal with this. There’s still a chance they deal with it in the right way, and if they don’t, that’s when my negative feedback will be given.
Bro you guys(people complaining not Kabam) ruined it for me, the objective said get, level up or rank up a 6* not all of it! At once!! so that means if you give 1 level to a champion it would count as one point!!! READ PEOPLE! So I have more than 10 6*s at level 1/25 I gave each one 1 level (2/25) remember I’m talking about level not rank. I did that 10 times and it gave me the first objective. I did the same thing for the second one completed the second one. I had to log out then I logged back in and everyone is complaining n the objectives are gone!!! when it was extremely simple to complete!!!! Come on man

dude all my 6s that are r1 are already at level 25 what am I supposed to do? You're only thinking about the situation from your own perspective. If I wanted to do the objective I'd need to either find new 6s or rank up the ones I already have

Even like that you have to do 100 level up and each level for 6* r1 it’s 17k+ iso at level 1 , that means enough iso for 100 levels… and the amount it’s increased for every single level u do 17k 18k 20k iso etc … and after did u spent a lot of iso and gold …. They did this 😡

Or when will a decision be reached on the following issues -
1. CGR login crystal issue
2. Single player resource package issue
3. Gold, iso used for level up for removed objectives issue
Thank you in anticipation of further communication.
