I am honestly stunned that people are having so much difficulty with this. I am a thoroughly average Cav player without a single R2 6* (let alone R3) and the only time I had trouble was when I accidentally entered the wrong quest and had to use AA and Fury against Ultron.
Harder than SoP??? Really??
DISCLAIMER: I am speaking specifically about the Sym Spidey one. I have not tried the other quests (with the one noted exception) so I have no idea how hard those quests are.
I honestly don’t get why people don’t do the level down if they are struggling at legend level.
You know what the fights are - hell you can even preview them - if can’t do it then choose the option suited for your roster or lower difficulty.
For me I will do Sym spider everyday for 6* shards.. and he is very easy with venom (50 hits and he is dead) yes have to evade a couple of lvl 1 but practice and keep distance and this is not too hard.
Kabam told it's player base to grind out tedious objectives for a month because it "would be worth it in the next event" and then also make the player base do another months worth of grinding against needlessly complex node combinations with incredibly niche counters to allow access to the actual side quest (which is levelling the summoned symbiote and fighting against knull). All while the game is undergoing the longest and probably most severe series of bugs in it's history. The SS is also only rankable to a 5r5 equivalent and can't be brought to any game content outside of the side quest. Legendary SQ content has been reasonably doable for cav players for at least the entirety of 2021, but now cav players are being barred from a one-time trophy champion (because epic rewards aren't enough to rank him) as well as content rewards that they've normally had access to without dipping into revives/units for even a single mistake, with no word or explanation from Kabam in any way about the sudden increase in difficulty. I know many throne breakers are itching for more challenging and engaging content, but this isn't SOP or a try-hard challenge like with Shang Chi or Boss Rush events. Can you really not understand why so many are upset?

I may be wrong, but I think the main issue anyone has with the Sym Spidey quest is that they haven’t mastered evading the Sp1. That’s not really the game team’s fault.
The AV quest is a different animal. I’ve had one run that made me wonder what my problem was because it was straightforward. I had another where I couldn’t get AV to throw specials and ate a ton of block damage. And I had another where I never figured out the “daily” parry timing and ate combos.
Here’s the issue for me: when we all know that there are problems with moving around the screen, and that those problems will likely persist until 2022 in some form, and that certain aspects of the game require timing to avoid losing a champ…it would be appreciated if the team could throw us a bone more regularly for normal questing.
But not with free stuff—doing things like running the Halls of Healing more frequently, sticking some more pots in the EQ paths, running a pots for gold deal, etc.
It doesn’t have to be earth-shattering, but if many of us are going to be burning a few pots every day for the daily quest and have 7.3 just around the corner, it would be appreciated.
Yes, it's overboard for the enjoyment of using the Symbiote which requires 24 runs of Legendary to Max out.
Yes, This is all that this month's difficulty is about....leveling that little guy .... and what he can help get you this month. Perfectly planned out.

I never evade it. I just block it. If I have enough space when it starts I guess I keep away from the melee strikes...
Historically legendary difficulty has always been on the edge of uncollected and cavalier. I used 4*s on legendary difficulty not even a year ago. Recently we have seen a HUGE variance in the difficulty. Think about the Shang Chi side quest a few months back (not Shang chi challenge) Compared to Cosmic Eclipse. And this is all coming at a time when the game is barely playable.
I feel hoodwinked but the devs, saying “you’ll get this for doing that”. And then making the thing we are supposed to do, so punishing.
What I would really like is a comment on how hard the legendary difficulty “should” be. What level champs is this designed for? And what level of item input is expected, on a side quest?

Sym Spidey I find hard, because parry is off and his AI is squiffy; he stutters and doesn't rush in like the others. For me at least, it's not his sp1. I found AV easier!

I can second that (squiffy!).
There’s a lot of jerkiness in his movements. It’s not that hard, but just annoying. Everything about this month’s quest feels like a big tease.
If you don't have a 5/65 or r2 venom or AA, what's the best solution to symbiote Spiderman? The sp1 plus the degrading block node and massive fury he gets from parry stun, makes him annoying too. Used 2 20% revives on my first try.
Tried him and agent venom (used Diablo on AV and did ok, but needed a revive) and both are pains. 35 5/65 or above and not sure I've the solutions.
If anyone has easy solutions, that aren't doom (don't have him) let me know!

I used ghost for him little risky fight even a single hit from him will kill you because high crit damage
I should have said Mole Man - and don't go into frenzy.
You can go into frenzy while below 10 mole mass and still keep your true accuracy. If you do that, you can go above 10 molemass while in frenzy and your true accuracy will still be there
Problem with the side quest is that the bugs are still going on. I've done the symbiote spider one and I would be totally ok with it if controls responded properly. I'm going in with a R5 Doom and a R4 Venom. So i can't really get hit. Not even blocking. But it's really difficult when we're getting hit because our champ is not dexing, throwing heavies out of the blue or not moving at all, not because we're lacking the skills (I'm comfortable evading the sp1 btw, when controls respond properly). What are we supposed to do? Leave the quest and waste the key? Or spend countless resources when we wouldn't in the first place? Or just give up taking summoned symbiote to rank 5 by not doing legendary at all? Lots of us shouldn't even have to be making this decision in the first place because it's not our fault! The odd thing is, I tried the epic after and controls worked like a charm. Why is that the controls issues only come up on hard fights? They said last month that this month's would be worth all the grinding, but all I got so far is frustration. And by default we don't even hear a single word from them. Starting to find out that there's only so much frustration one can take.

I've used Venom mostly but I've also taken him down with Diablo

A good point. I had my inputs just quit at one point in today’s run. Went to tap Sp1, nada. Quickly tried to swipe back, nope. Predictable results.

There's that too, sometimes we tap the specials and they don't activate. I honestly don't want compensation. Because if it comes it will be in the form of potions and revives. What about the units I spent? They are far more valuable to me right now because I'm saving to switch my mastery setting. But Kabam should be a bit more reasonable and take into consideration that there's a bug going on that they haven't fixed yet. We understand that there's a bug and we have been patient. Even though we complain from time to time, we're still here! What are they doing? Sending AQ & AW potions and boosts that not all of us will ever use? The combination of nodes, as unfortunate as they may be, don't really bother me. Maybe allow us to take more than 2 champs into the quest? Even one more would be of help to save resources.

I’d be shocked if the team ever gives units. Shocked. I can’t recall it ever happening although it probably has.
Ultimately, I’m just let down, even though I saw it coming with all the hype. It’s a clunky event that’s just a little overtuned for having to do it 4 weeks straight. Hard to believe it’s been less than a week.

More than 2 Roster Slots would be real nice... For a minute I thought for the AV Boss I could've brought Symbiote Supreme and Wags for Passive Stun, but since SS has no Hero/Villain Affiliation or Metal Tag he can't gain the effect from the Prefight... But either way since my Highest Star Rating Wags is a 3 Star, SS would be my only option for all 3 Fights which is annoying with all the Input/Control Uncertainties+Weird AI. Not to mention all the Block Damage, but you can't bring a High BP Champion to deal with that or else the Unblockable and Beefy Armor will get you so you need a Champion with Armor Break/Nullify majority of which aren't known for High BP... (Minus Doom but I don't have him.) Then even if you tried to just out play all that the Guaranteed Tenacity rules out a ton more Champions that rely on Debuffs, and again the Input/Control Uncertainties could ignore any skill you have...

Makes it fairly easy and not require potions. If you don't have a 5 or 6* white mag, just bring a 3 or 4* and use doom on the fights.
@DrZola Thanks for the tip. Much less painful.

Agent Venom needs strong tenacity counter (Wags)
Venompool needs DoT+no buffs/heal reversal (Void, HT etc)
Sym Spidey doesn't need a specific counter and that's why those who do just that quest find it easy
