This months Epic Difficulty SQ

There’s been lots of chat about the massively jacked up Legendary SQ this month from the TB’s, whales and sweaty try hards…
This ones for your average player who comfortably completes Epic Difficulty (this was for your Uncollected level players, wasn’t it?) and just what in the name of Jesus were Kabam thinking slapping 38000 PI champions on the path?
It wasn’t that many months ago Legendary SQ had 38000 champs as final bosses, now Epic are being expected to defeat them - for the same rewards?!
Massively ramping up the difficulty for what should be a short, enjoyable couple of fights is utter BS, especially when you factor in the controls issues, failure of parry and dex not working…
What the hell were Kabam thinking?

If it is too much of a challenge, I heard Story Chapter 1 is fun to do again.
Yes no one is forcing us to do it but side quests are one of the main sources to gain shards, so yeah if suddenly the difficulty gets ramped up while the rewards don't, sure players would be angry
Try hard? How about get better. Use units, revive.
Kabam simply can't win. Nothing will ever be good enough forcso many.
Game still in a bad state.
WE ARE ALL STILL PLAYING.
This months Epic difficulty is significantly tougher than other months’, which can be misleading for an Uncollected player who is used to a certain difficulty. I remember last year when I was still Uncollected almost being able to clear Legendary difficulty on Mutant Treasure Island, which is crazy when you compare it to this month’s quest.
So many players expect everything for free on here. They want compensation. Then get it, and it isn't good enough. They spent money to clear broken content that didn't work correctly. They want their money back.
What's the hurry? Why spend, and then complain afterwards? Why hold out your hand and expect extra every second of every day?
Kabam, whether we like them or not, has created a fantasy for us childlike Marvel lovers. We get to play a GAME where we become our favorite characters, and see these heroes develop; just as we do. And guess what? It's free! I'm choosing to enjoy them moments, enjoy all aspects of the game, learn new attackers, and HAVE FUN, all while not expecting anymore than I deserve.
Spiteful? Haha. It's a game. I treat it as one.
But the significant variation we've had this month shouldn't be acceptable where it's probably 4 (at least 3) times harder than the usual difficulty level we get with the rewards staying at the same level & even slightly lower in some areas compared to what we're used to
This much variation is not justifiable in any case, specially when the rewards don't vary by similar margins as well
And while calculating the difficulty increase we can't just look at the combination of health, attack, nodes & defenders, but also the fact that attacker teams have also been restricted to 2 members only
Even last month ws a significant step up in terms of difficulty (which was also criticized & rightfully so) & this month turned out to be even harder & that too by a big margin
This company needs to figure out how to achieve balance in this game, before it’s too late.
Just did epic, the middle lane took me so much longer than the others.
There will never be balance. You can't please everyone; especially when both hands are out.
1- Leave Legendary+Epic difficulty at the usual, old levels, and add a new, harder level for End game players. Don't call it "TB difficulty" because it isn't, a really big part of Thronebreakers are not End game level. We still struggle with cav EQ, but in a good way.
2- Leave Legendary+Epic at the usual old levels, and add end game content more frequently. Shang Chi level, sop, whatever.
So, as usual, it’s fun to problem solve and mess with. But this one would suck if you were relying on it for progression and rewards, I guess.
I wrote the next sentences by thinking too to lower level players.
The last month Side Quest for the Symbioid’s catalyst that was a horrific difficulty due to some buffs. On legendary of course for which I know some Cavaliers and TB that gave up. On Epic, it was more a matter of parry bugs, but it could have been disgusting for lower players.
There were several threads on the last SQ where some TB complained legitimately complained about the difficulty, moreover increased by bugs and lags.
This month the SQ in Epic is much more difficult that the Monthly Quest.
The defenders have 35-40k of PI on the central line, that is a huge difference with the 2 other lines (10-15k) and the MQ. This line should be for Legendary.
I did the last week (Guillo 2099) without any item, but won’t do this week (Annihilus) without using some items. The Epic rewards absolutely are not worth the items. For the players with very few 6r2/5r5, maybe they don’t have the right counters and the line will cost them a lot of items.
If this difficulty in the 2 last monthly SQ is a turn that Kabam takes definitively, it will disgust the major part of the players base.
If it is what Kabam is thinking, I don’t think this big increase of difficulty is seen by the players as a way to improve and to encourage them to get the next title.
I understand that the highest players always want more difficult, and that it is a way of incomes for Kabam. It is complex for Kabam to satisfy the community that is divided in 2: these players and those who expect to keep the game as a pleasure (with a little challenge).
Several options :
- Simply reduce the difficulty (because the increase is finally a mistake) to come back to previous months.
- To keep the levels Normal/Heroic/Master/Epuc/Legendary and to upgrade the rewards (or slide them to the immediate lower difficulty) in order to not give the feeling of injuring the players.
- To introduce a difficulty above Legendary for the ones that always demand more.
Whatever the plans are, a communication of Kabam is required.
If you think the SQ is easy, yes you can said it. However, please think in the context of others when someone said something different from yours. The world is not function in a way that "I have no issue and thus there is no issue at all".
Just like some kids talking about the Alien Assault Legendary, it doesn't matter if you find it easy (or manageable) to 100% it, there is no need to jump into those complaining threads and said "it is easy I can do it with xxx, yyy, zzz". If you are really capable enough, help those ppl make it their way, or making guideline like some youtubers (e.g. MCOC Noob) was doing. I think this is what so-called being constructive.
I wouldn't be mad if these were Cavalier rewards but they clearly are not, given the difficulty. This is way above what a Cavalier player could presumably manage; it definitely is far beyond what I could have managed as a Cav player back in the day. It feels like both this and last month's SQ was created for us Thronebreakers in mind when it came to difficulty, but Cavalier players when it came to rewards. That means TBers will be able to clear it but won't find the rewards, well, rewarding; while Cavalier players, who would be satisfied with the rewards, are unable to clear it without using a lot of resources.
The recent Variant had the same problem. A lot of content as of late seems to be very confused with regards to whom it is for. If it is for the endgame players, raise the rewards. If it is for mid-tier players, lower the difficulty so that they can complete it. Instead, Kabam is on a streak of pumping out super hard content with subpar rewards, the negative response to which is hardly surprising.
