How do stars in the forums work?

Hi, this is just a general question.. I am wondering, how do stars work in these forums? Just curious...

    each positive reaction (insightful, agree, like, and awesome) you get each give you a point. Hit a certain number of points to get a new star rating. Caps out at five stars (which is 3001 points) but the points themselves have no limit

    How do you get silver stars, then? I always assumed they were the next step after getting five regular stars.
