Thoughts on this month's Cav EQ?

I think they've tried to make it too complicate and hard, and a sneaky way of making us rank up champs that don't matter.

I’ve been lucky so far and had ONE ranked up champ per quest that fit the tag, and solo’d the quest. Going into 3.1 tomorrow, but I definitely feel uneasy going into each chapter, whereas class based months have made me feel somewhat confident with the champs I have

Thanks for this thread. Just an additional thought to my last comment. If they did one chapter with positive attributes to tags on “Heroes”, then a whole chapter to “Villians”, then a different attribute for each “(size)” for the last chapter, then I’d be way more into this change.

I’ve been ignoring the tagged champion nodes and bringing strong champs that counter the buffs that the defender gets. Permanent regen? Heal block, petrify, neurotoxin. Thanks for the added damage output.

Seems unnecessarily difficult this month though, trouble fighting like cage in chapter 1 doesn’t bode well for the rest of the EQ

I have always explored the cav eq, not a single time I missed out , but I'm passing this month. It's not that I can't, but rather while playing this new eq I'm feeling that I am giving exam on my thesis. Plus the node combination is badly executed. Even the champs supposed to be benefit are falling short. Slowly slowly, my passion and zeal is dying for the game

The thing is too we're getting the SAME amount of rewards, but with a significantly increased time spent and difficulty.

I love it, but I can understand why people hate it. I just like the cross fight feature involved. Lets you come into your next fight already having an attack boost. But it is too restrictive. That's the only part that Kabam didn't fully consider.

i am still waiting for event quest solo event to start exploring the first two chapter, but I also have 40 revives saved up so probably wont matter

It has felt too long and with nothing fixed and decided yet, I haven't touched it for months. Will not do for few more until they arrive at a stable form of quest.

Hate it with obvious reasons.. You scale up the rewards as per difficulty.. This seems like thronebreaker level but rewards are cavalier level...

Is it because no time to develop a new hero to sell? Increase the difficulty and hero ranges to make players pay for units or resources?

This month eq is just poop. The tag champs are basically useless and I don’t have high rank up of them. . I am just better off using my top champs that can act as better counters.

The tag system only works for big rosters with tons of r3 6* and r5 5*
For normal cav even tb player it's very unlikely to have a ranked up champ from every tag

No final opinion yet, since I’m trying to adjust to it at the moment.

But after a few paths, it’s beginning to feel like a miss. Anything that requires precise game mechanics (example: evading in 2.1) at this point with the game’s issues probably should have been put on ice for a few months. And some of the hash tagged champs don’t quite align with what you need to run the paths against the selected opponents.

Positive note: I appreciate the effort at trying something new. If the tags get organized better and we are able to select “or” as well as “and” with respect to the tags, that would be a QoL plus.

This months eq is a total miss. The fights are way to long! When bringing the correct champs for the chapter you should be able to end a fight 30-40 hits with high ranked champs. That's certainly not happening in most fights.

This is a game and supposed to be fun. If I wanted to spend a ton of time reading I'd pick up a book. Reading all of the nodes and filtering champion tags is a total pain.

I haven't 100%'ed it yet but I can say that I started enjoying it a lot more after deciding to just ignore most nodes. I don't have any mercenaries ranked up, so why bother? I tried to bring underleveled champions into the early quests and either got completely clapped or got through it by the skin of my teeth.

That said, I won't vote because, while I dislike some things about the changes and am not overall positive to this month's EQ, I still don't "hate" it. That's too strong a word.

However, I'm also coming at this from a Thronebreaker perspective. I absolutely sympathize with Cavalier players. It's not easy to just have these champions ranked up, especially with no notice whatsoever. I don't have a strong roster in most of these tags and am even lacking decent champions in most of the combined tags. It really feels like Kabam overestimated how many good Guardians of the Galaxy, Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four champs there are in the game, as well as how many mid-tier players have those specific champions ranked up.

The champion pools for each group are 21-26 champs, and that includes trophies like Weapon X, Wolverine, Gold/Platinumpool, etc. It includes champs that don’t necessarily fit the nodes anyway.

It’s very disappointing to see the highly restrictive variant 8 followed by a monthly EQ with narrower nodes than before. These decisions contradict design principles Kabam promised in the roadmaps.

I’ve got two TB accounts, so I’m fine, but you can’t say something is targeted at Cavalier players then impose restrictions like these. One reason that class gates were mostly fine in EQ is that resources allocate by class, and many other in-game nodes and abilities function off class relationships. The natural flow of the game results in you ranking up champs across all 6 classes. These random tags, which can’t even be searched as a group btw…not so much.

I would enjoy it if the tags weren't so restrictive. If they covered a larger portion of champs, that would be better. As for 1.1 the crossfight was meaningless for my captain Marvel Movie 6* r3 and the enemy would be dead within 1 special

All of the stuff everyone is mentioning. Its just not fun. The node timers are way too short so you constantly dealing with that every combo instead of being able to play the champ normal for a little bit before dealing with it. The champs I just got and ranked up from Black Friday are barely being utilized so it seemed like a waste of money. I guess I could just ignore the tags but then the whole node stuff is even less fun.

Very simple. If you increase difficulty increase rewards. This will be probably the first month I won’t 100% eq. Don’t want to spend time with this stupid nodes. 3.1 has a very bad design!!!
