Why are champs still locked in AW and AQ for 24 hours?

Hi Kabam, I was watching Seatin’s latest video about his thoughts on the state of the game and it got me thinking about my progression.
The main think that came to mind is how annoying it is to have to wait a day or finish the map in Aw and AQ before being able to use champions I ranked up for content.
I understand it’s an optional game mode but I feel it would be more accessible if you could freely use champs like you can in lower maps.
I am lucky enough to be throne-breaker but there are still times where in between work I get the urge to explore story or side quests and I can’t because my champs have just been locked away.
