Does Kabam want us to hoard or not hoard?

On the one hand they say that hoarding puts a strain on their servers. On the other hand they give us the trade-in store which will only encourage more hoarding since players won't know what resources they'll need for the next trade-in store.

I used lots of 5* sig stones and lower awakening gems just to use them for item use. Wish I had hoarded more lol

    Hoard some, don't hoard other's.

Mainly encouraging hoarding, although indirectly. Then on the forums they often encourage not hoarding

Kabam said hoarding deprecated crystals puts extra load on the servers because they can never remove those crystal types from the reward databases, if even one player still owns them. If players open those crystals or if they are forced open, Kabam can then remove those crystal types from the reward databases permanently, reducing the size of the crystal databases.

The trade in store allows players to trade resource types that can never be removed from the reward tables ever so no amount of hoarding them will ever have any impact on the overall server load.

Whether you hoard AGs or not, whether you hoard signature stones or not, *someone* will have at least one. As long as someone always has at least one, those resources must be maintained in the game databases. And as it is unlikely the game will ever remove the need for those resources, their impact on the server load can never be removed. So in terms of server load, how many of those players possess will have zero impact on the game performance.
