Not many expected the Trade-in store deals, should we be concern about the gifting event????

Just like the title says, I don't have a hoard of any awaken gems to trade up, so the whole trade-in event is a past, but with the gifting event coming up, should we be concerned about Kabam pulling off some unforeseen stunt with that event??? I was hoping to get a 6*AG, but that ain't happening.
I'm just gonna keep grinding for more units and hope for no crazy surprises.

I’ve used the hell out of the trade in store. It’s like having a massive number of T4cc selectors, as it allows me to open as many crystals as I want, keep the ones I need and change the rest back into crystals. Used it on my alts to convert a ton of expiring revives as well. I didn’t have a huge pile of awakening gems sitting around, so it was never my expectation to be able to trade those in, or to need to?
