Abyss nexus question

Im going for herc in the cosmic abyss nexus crystal. However…. If i complete the abyss today and claim the cosmic nexus. Will i still be able to get him if i open the nexus on 11th January (date when he gets added to basic pool) even tho i have claimed the crystal today?

I'm not 100% sure but I think that the moment you got/purchase is irrelevant. It's about when you open them.
