Champ not responding to swype after special

Ok, the issue is definitely present after the last update, and almost everyone in my alliance experienced it: after special attack, swype left doesn't work, the champ stands still and doesn't respond to it. I play this game for 7th year, and I'm sure I have the timing right to something so basic as dex after special. The game is full of bugs, and this is one of them. Please, Kabam, make this game great again!! This is frustrating, and no alliance quest potions you give us will take that frustration away.
