Do Deaths in AW count after Attack bonus is gone

Forgive me, I searched for a straight answer and wasn’t able to find one. All I found was conjecture and hearsay.

My BG just had a player die 20+ times against MOJO in AW tier 5. He is claiming that deaths after the attack bonus is gone death’s don’t count against you. And yes we lost the AW.

Once the attack bonus is gone, deaths do not matter. Each death is 80 points lost in attack bonus, totaling 240 points max at 3 deaths. Anything more will not cost you points, only items.

If you have 15 deaths and your opponent has 20, but they died 9 times to one of your defenders, then their meaningful death total would actually be 14, which would cost you the war if your diversity and exploration match.

2. No. If scores are tied, then Fight Duration is used as the tie-breaker.
3. You lose 80 attack bonus points from your final score per death, up to 240 points or three deaths per defender. Any additional deaths given up on a defender do not count toward the final score as no further attack bonus points are lost.

So someone can die three times or twenty times against a defender, the attack bonus points lost remain at 240 points. You don’t lose more points after you die the first three times against one defender. Your player is right. He is most likely not the reason you lost that war. This is applicable in all tiers BTW, not just in Tier 5 and lower.

He isnt asking for sneering comments, it would be nice to be actually helpful, wouldnt it.

OP, after 3 deaths, it doesnt count anymore. He is right.

If there are three deaths already, it's pointless to waste "Heal Potions" on a fight which will give nothing if it gets cleared in one attempt or 20.

Players using these overflowing team revives to slowly bring down the defender is rather a smart move.

Hey does anyone know if dying just makes you lose attack bonus or does it actually give your opponent points as well, I've played AW alot but I honestly just never thought about it

The only highly unlikely way he could've lost the war for them is if his fight duration added up and everything else they did was exactly equal.

only reason deaths matter after the 3 bonuses are lost, is the moral loss and the resources used to heal champs back to 100% if thats something you do. it helps reduce further deaths but.... if you kinda suck and constantly lose all bonuses in fights should probably allow 10th person to take your path.

1 loyalty revives for 40% health shouldn’t break anyone.

We just had a war today where I could calculate that we had already lost the war based on attack bonus, so we ended up fighting a the bosses with revives instead of wasting resources on heals and boosts.

Still need those boss kills for final standings, but no point wasting resources for a lost cause. Might as well save for the next one.
