Spider-Man 2099 Questions

Hey all,

So awhile back I pulled a 6 star Spider-Man 2099 from a featured.

I've always known that he is a good war attacker but besides that is he good at anything else? Clearing content? Any boss fights? Variants? Does he need his signature?

I currently have him at rank 2 an use him in war occasionally (I usually bring in human torch over him cause well, mystic god killer duh), and I feel like I am not using him to his full potential.

I love his animations and design an would love to utilize the champ more I just have overlooked him an do not know much more about him so any advice will be welcomed thanks!

I'm still getting used to my 5* so I'm not the most knowledgeable on him. I will say though, he is my new favorite dorm counter as well as nodes that punish you from getting buffs

He's great most places there's passive power gain, that you don't want buffs, or want to place lots of debuffs really. His sig makes a massive difference on damage output as you don't lose all your ruptures on burst and the increased combat power helps cycling specials faster. He was great for the 7.3 chapter that had Strange, Sorcerer, and I think Sym Sup as bosses.

You say you bring Torch over S99 for war bc he's a mystic slayer but personally I think S99 is "better". Torch is obviously faster, especially with his prefight (which you only get once), but S99 is far safer and actually counters one of the most dangerous things about fighting mystics in war, power gain. Whether it's passive gain or MD, he basically eliminates both completely and actually reverses passive gain. He also reverses things like Kinetic transference and can even use them to increase damage by constantly bringing their power down to zero with a block and bursting ruptures over and over if he's high sig.

He'll likely be my 2nd R4 soon and I don't even do competitive war currently.

He’s my newest R3. For me, he plays super smooth and does a lot of things that are useful in the current game state. Mine isn’t awakened, and that would help with damage, but I still think he’s outstanding.

I can’t add much more than other already have, but he is a killer in all content. I brought him to r3 before much more traditional science choices, and I don’t regret it at all

So for everyone that commented, i am curious, i have both CAIW and 2099, who would be worth it more to rank 3? Ik CAIW is a god, i have him maxed with max sig at 5 star. But just curious as to what i should focus on

I’d say it depends on a couple factors. What sig is your 6* Cap? Is your Spidey2099 duped? Do you have/frequently play any of their synergy partners? Do you have a champion with equal or similar utility to Spidey’s buff immunity?

Both are outstanding champions, so there’s not necessarily a bad choice. But unless your 6* Cap is already sig 200, I’d say Spidey brings more to the table.

I have both at R3 sig 200 and both are amazing. I honestly use S99 far more these days than I do cap.

You know the 7.3 Dr Strange boss? Just have S2099 and Anti Venom together and laugh as he never throws a special as you just heavy him to death in a corner and throw your SP2 at him.

Something else to consider about S2099 which is nuts, he passively reduces damage from any opponent benefiting from true strike or true damage by SEVENTY-FIVE percent. Coupled with his passive resistance ups, he is so tanky vs AW bosses. You can take a lot of hits. And this allows you to be aggressive and even risky in piling on debuffs and going for the big SP2s. I R3 my unduped S2099 for this reason and I am one-shotting a lot of nasty bosses.
