The game experienced a brief connectivity issue this morning. The team promptly fixed the issue and things are back to normal, thank you to everyone who passed along reports!
Seriously? That's it?

Started a new account a few months back and been grinding hard to make it uncollected. Last night I finished off the collector and was utterly disappointed that from all my efforts all I got was 2 T4 and 1500 4 star shards. I suppose I should have looked at what the rewards were going to be but assumed that they would be worth all my effort.
I looked back in history through Youtube to see what the rewards were back in the day and guess what... In 2017 the rewards were exactly the same. WTF!!! 5 years and rewards haven't changed, that's some serious problem.

you want the juicy rewards you gotta beat act 5
Of course 5 years ago the same materials weren't as easy to obtain as they are now
Not to mention that it’s arguably easier, when 5.2 came out we were struggling to get high ranked 4*s. I fought the collector with an R2 4* Hulk OG first time. Something tells me you’re probably beyond that if you think 1500 4* shards is bad.
And add on top of that, that we have 3 times the amount of champs to choose from and almost every champion who came out after 5.2 was better than any we currently had.
At risk of sounding ancient, you have it way easier than we did “back in our day”.
Besides, you are not supposed to be satisfied so that way you can continue your progress towards Cavalier and then eventually Thronebreaker.
The game is not designed on the assumption that when the game is seven years old, most of the players are seven year old veterans redoing Act 5 for giggles. It is designed on the assumption that new people join every day, and to the best extent possible a player who starts today gets a similar progression experience as someone who started seven years ago. Eventually, over extremely long periods of time, reward inflation and game expansion can make that impossible, but when that happens the game makes the minimum changes necessary. For example, Acts one through three are now much quicker to complete and much more rewarding to complete than they originally were, to accelerate players to Acts 4 and higher and towards Uncollected and higher. But the higher Acts like Act 5 are still essentially the same content serving the same function, with the same rewards targeted at players of roughly the same progress level.
As long as that doesn't change, the content won't change and the rewards won't change. That's why Realm of Legends isn't made harder with larger rewards. That's why Labyrinth, Variant 1, and most of the other permanent content in the game is similar or the same as they were when they launched and the rewards contained within them are the same as they were when they launched. A player starting today should get a similar progression experience as players did years ago. That means they should run through the same Act 5 and get the same rewards and the same amount of roster progress, or as close as possible.
Waiting for older content to get larger rewards is a very, very long wait. You basically have to wait until that content becomes marginally redundant. For Act 5, I would expect that to happen some time around 2027.
