Was my first R4 ever really in doubt?

The moment has come, I’ve been hyping him since the moment of his release, he’s my favourite champion to have ever been added to the game and it’s finally time.

The Carina Challenger’s and Mutant Abyss challenges are done and dusted, some really fun content and absolutely worth it to be able to do this.

So so happy to have a pretty unique first R4, excited to test him out in some content!

As a TL:DR

He has Degeneration counter by reducing the potency and also regenerating during it, one of the most potent power/heal reversals in the game, damage nobody is immune to (only shrug off/damage reflect champs can stop it), an evade on heavy to give you on demand openings and intercepts, immunity to nullify/stagger/fateseal, dashing back removes all your buffs and doesn't feed mystic dispersion, delirium can control enemy power gain to some extent, SP1 inflicts exhaustion which is good for countering sasquatch and also gives you a block proficiency boost and lastly SP3 can heal you around 25% health.

I have a guide to play him, and a youtube channel where I've used him all over the place if you're interested

One of those options seems different than the other..

But I know you're the Beast guy, and he has as a decent enough synergy with Elsa. Ultimately go with who you enjoy playing more!

If you’d seen how long the post was before I decided to condense it down to that, you’d agree that’s a TL:DR

I have him as a 6* but haven't really got the gist of using him... Would really live some pointers

As a short version ( @Malreck04 even if it isn’t super short

) , you want to get to 20 dark energy and throw an sp2

The way to do that is largely parry heavy. If you are facing an R3 opponent and have petrify go for 3 parry heavy, dash back and hold your heavy. The opponent will be below a bar of power and you convert your light energy into dark energy.

If you don’t have petrify or your opponent is R4 or R5 they will have more power gain, so go for 2 parry heavies, then parry and then dash back without heavying and convert.

Parry and heavy or do a few combos while baiting specials and building power to your sp2, get 10-12 light energy again and convert it when at your sp2 and use sp2 on close to 20 dark energy.

There’s obviously a lot more to play him and I could write for days about it, but that’s the absolute basics.

It’s called a guando, really cool weapon. I’m actually learning Kung Fu and I got to learn how to use this weapon. It’s very fun, but also ridiculously heavy to use.

Nice rank up. Honestly I would just rank him up for the aesthetic. Everything about him is so cool, and it works awesome with the 6* border. Its an added bonus that he's an incredible champion.

Nice!! I love my R3 Shang, he’s such a great champ and him and Negative have a lovely little synergy together.

Up until a few weeks ago he was set on being my 4th R4 (after Tigra) but now I think I want to do Killmonger instead of Shang! Tough choice, but will always have a soft spot for Shang
