Thanks kabam for 7.4 until…

The option of choice being taken away feels violating and predatory. For months ive spent my sigs and catalysts in a certain way to set my account up to be as good as it can be. Now I pulled a skill 3-4 gem and i’m back to square one. Couple this with the offer of a lifetime for completion and 7.4 went from my favorite chapter in story mode to a predatory RNG fest.

The good thing about MCOC is that every class has champions you can enjoy and use to good effect.
I also think enough people have been tossing around the word "predatory" to the point where it has no meaning. When a random reward that the game tells you is going to be random in the content turns out to be random, what exactly is the game preying on? Limited attention span?
Sure, it is possible that some people completing the content were caught off guard by the completion (ne exploration) offer, and sure some people might have been misled by what the rewards were because they trusted leaked datamining more than they should have, but anyone who has already completed 7.4 a *day* after it was released doesn't need and shouldn't expect hand holding. You should be aware of what you're getting into before you blitz out content instantly upon release.
How does kabam "taking away the option of choice" make you feel violated? Is giving you one of the best rewards in the game predatory?
So many questions.
A few more: Have you done Carina's challenges to get the catalysts available there? Did you do Abyss, because if not, you can explore and pick a Skill nexus there. There should be plenty of options for this to not be as bad as you are saying this is.
Also, if you post your roster, the community can give you insight into how this might not be so bad for you. I have seen many a summoner upset that they don't have a "good" option to rank up when they in fact have several solid ones.
As another point, in completion and exploration of 7.4, you received 5 Nexuses and one class nexus. If that isn't an impressive amount of choice for a typically RNG filled game, then I don't really know what is.
Finally, I would refer you to the age old story when it comes to MCOC. It might suck to get something you weren't hoping for, but many people (myself included) have found that a champion/item that they didn't want actually is super useful, or got a buff, or will help them build a more established roster, or is actually super fun to play. RNG is a primary pillar of MCOC, just like choosing your favorite champs and ranking them up. If you didn't play in the first 4 years of the game, you would be surprised how different it used to be.
and sink them into someone who doesn’t need them/:
That choice the game presents to players is deliberate: if the game made all of the best prestige choices also the best sig up choices in general, the whales would be able to automatically corner both prestige and power simultaneously. Instead, the game forces most players to choose, to make the prestige chase non-trivial. Chasing prestige is honestly pretty expensive in both time and money, and it is one of the ways the game funds its existence without impacting most of the players of the game.
When players pour resources into making themselves more powerful, they also make the average content in the game harder, because the content is balanced around averages. When they pour resources into chasing each other's prestige around the block, sure there are power benefits associated with that but the vast majority of those resources do not go into things that make the game harder for everyone else. That's ultimately why it is how it is. It is a way to monetize the game with the lowest impact on everyone else outside the bigger spenders in general.
I’ll probably get stuck with uhhh, well
Doesn’t matter what I get, I’ve invested in all classes enough to be happy with any class.
Anyway, I say all that to say, that the dearth of sig stones in the game takes the joy out of the 3-4 gem for me because yeah, Sig stones are an absolute must and the champ that you intentionally want to take to r4 gets the **** end of it. I "overstand" your gripe.
