Bypassing safeguard without DOT

Hey all,

I'm having trouble understanding why basic hits/special attacks are bypassing safeguard in battlegrounds. None of my SP3 seem to do much of anything but losing 30% of my health to a hyperion SP3 had me scratching my head.

In a red mag vs red mag fight (yeah, I suck at strategy) basic hits from the AI were hitting the same as a regular quest.

Masteries or shenanigans?

    Well to my knowledge, some champions bypass safeguard if they can do red number damages e.g Guardian.

    Also, Safeguard doesn't apply to the defenders

    Safeguard is on the enemy, not you. You don’t cap damage at 1%, it’ll do normal damage. The Damage you do to your enemy will be capped at 1%, unless you have reduced their AAR, like with falcon, or if it is red numbers like with tigra.
