Battleground matchmaking is kinda unfair

I consider it should be based on total rating of player because sometimes we get opponents which are way out of our league and then its no more fun to play. Please consider this.

It would be extremely fair to players with stronger rosters to be competing for same rank rewards (which are coming in near future) as players who with smaller rosters who don't compete against the higher players

A similar thing happened in as long time ago when I don't remember if it was mistake or big or on purpose, but lowered rating alliances we're only fighting lower rating alliances but competed for same rank rewards as everyone else. This caused alliances who still used 4 star champs in war to be placing higher than alliances who primarily used r2 and r3 6 stars. That's just not fair when competing for same rewards.

When going for rank rewards in items like bg or aw, the only fair way to do it is matching by the rating for that mode. If players aren't competing for top rank rewards then that would be different.

    Thank you for your feedback!

The Battlegrounds game mode is still in beta so we appreciate any info about our players' experience. As of now, tweaks to matchmaking are something actively being discussed. Currently, all players have the same starting point where matchmaking is concerned. As a result, it means that players have a longer process to settle into a comfortable competitive bracket, which can be frustrating. Future changes will hopefully address this and shorten that process.

After the beta, we will consider all the feedback we have before BG becomes an official game mode, so keep it coming!

We tried this once before. It failed spectacularly. I hope Kabam has sufficient institutional memory to not repeat the same mistake twice. I think it makes sense to incorporate rating during the ramp up phase. But beyond a certain number of matches, it should be based on performance only.

The flip side to getting matched against players of higher rating is being locked out of higher tier rewards due to rating. If you have low rating and you want to only fight other players with low rating, then you should never be allowed to compete for higher rewards. No matter how good you are, no matter how many players you defeat, if the game refused to match you against higher rating players, it should never give you anything but lower tier rewards. It would be totally unfair for someone to get matched against lower tier competition over and over again and yet be awarded high tier rewards just because their record was fantastic against kindergarteners.

This is the issue that @Chatterofforums mentions happening with alliance war. Ratings or prestige-influenced matching caused alliances to get to high brackets without facing any high tier opponents. This should never happen, but this is inevitable if you both allow players to avoid matching above their rating and allow them to compete for high tier rewards on record alone.
