Warlock Vs. Venom bug?

I was using warlock against the regenerating venom in 6.2.5 on path B (and practice against venom). Is there something I'm missing, because warock virus never reaches infection (and heal block). The charges go up to 20, but then took over and nothing actually happens. I know venom can't be power drained or locked by techs, but Mysterio's heal block works in practice.

Infection has reduced timer per enemy buff. So when venom has a lot of buffs then infection timer goes into the negatives and doesn’t trigger

Per *unique* enemy buff
