Fight of the Valkyrie left over points

Hello, I have been playing the Fight of the Valkyrie event quest on Legendary difficulty the whole month of July, I am Cavalier difficulty and have purchased every thing in the Valkyrie store that I can, now I have over 600,000 points and counting with nothing to spend them on, I have been continuing to play the Legendary difficulty but what am I getting out of it? I have a bunch of points I can’t spend, have I been wasting my time? Why do I have to be throne breaker to buy the rest of the rewards? Do I get any compensation for all the time I’ve spent and the points I have left over? Because this side quest is misleading, and it essentially locks people out from getting the best rewards even though I will have 800,000+ Valkyrie points by the time the event quest is over

    The event isn’t locking you out from better rewards, your progression is.
