Some Players have been complaining about forgetting to Claim the Special Objectives from Summ(on)er Event after completing it at times which results in missing a day or two. others suggested it should be auto-claimed once completed since most people that forget to claim it for the absence of that 1 red notification in the objectives tab.
Yet on the last day of the grace days, Kabam has auto-claimed the objectives upon completion to avoid having an extra point for tomorrow's second round of Summ(on)er event.
Not complaining about not having the extra point though, but come on just keep that auto-claim feature there for the remainder of the event and not just on last day of grace days. it's QOL IMO.

The auto-claim feature has been implemented to the exact effect that summoners are asking for it: so they don't have to worry about tracking the objectives and they won't experience a situation where they don't get a new objective despite having completed previous ones.
It's nothing nefarious about allowing you to carry over a point into the second leg of the event. It was purely listening to feedback and wanting to rollout the changes before the next portion began.
Was just any Objectives (like today's) that started after they made this “auto-claim” change that will result in automatically being claimed and applied to event milestone.
(** at first, still shows up in the objective slot as completed, probably so you can verify it was done and claimed, so wasn’t showing a potential “open” slot for tomorrow. But that resolved itself when I restarted game again afterwards, auto-claimed one went away and correctly shows an open slot now with timer for next day)
