I like him. I have my 6* at r3. I wouldn't say that he needs his awakened ability, but it can be nice to have in certain situations. It allows him to block unblockable attacks and to leech health from the opponent when you've placed a petrify on them. I have yet to use his ability to block unblockable attacks since I usually bring Miles for those fights, but I'm sure it'll come in handy occasionally. As for the other part of his sig, I don't find it too useful. I think I've gained health once thanks to it.

But I do like the champ, sig or not. I've been exploring Act 6 lately and he was very useful for several lanes in 6.3. The ability to be immune to whichever two debuffs you prefer out of the three, and to deal whichever specific type of damage you prefer out of the three, is an incredibly potent type of utility. Additionally, no champion is immune to power sting damage. Shrug-off champions can obviously mitigate it by shrugging off the debuffs in question, but when it triggers, it triggers equally for everyone. That's also a great tool to have in your arsenal.

I'm by no means an expert when it comes to playing him, but I can say that I've enjoyed what I've seen so far.

I was wondering if by any chance you run suicides. I can see it being annoying that he applies poison by default and therefore he does not have that immunity.
I think Karatemike forgot to select the immunity for a fight on his rank 4 showcase. I can definitely see myself doing that regularly, if I get him.

I don't run suicides, but I definitely have made the mistake of not switching the damage type in order to either get the right immunity or to deal the right type of damage to the opponent. There have been several times when I've accidentally left the poison damage on against champions who are poison immune; when you do, his overall damage diminishes greatly. Not only because he doesn't place any damaging debuffs as such, but also because they don't detonate as power stings. It can be quite annoying, even if you learn to switch over time.

While he isn't getting balanced, I think one good QoL change to him could be to make any changes that you make to him the new default going forward. Let's say you are running suicides and you therefore want to have that poison immunity up every fight, wouldn't it be great if you could switch your damage to shock and then have that be the new default (and rupture/poison be the new default immunities) until you wish to change it again?

I was using him for a couple of paths in Act 6 that required me to deal a specific type of damage, and it would have been a real QoL change to not have to switch to that type of damage ahead of every fight but rather just choose a new base damage to deal throughout the quest.

My thoughts exactly! I’d love to see that applied to other champs like Diablo too.
