Question about mastery load-out in BG

I didn't really care about this until now. I noticed those three mastery symbols at the top-left were 'zero'. I clicked on it and asked if I want to apply a mastery load-out to both my offense and defense. I agreed and now there are numbers which corresponds to my current mastery outside BGs.

So, I want to ask if my current mastery were applied by default to both my decks or I screwed up and played without it all this time? I'm sure though my offense have it because I run mystic dispersion and it's working on my mystics. But worried about my defense.

Sorry if this is confusing to read.

If you don't an assigned load out it defaults to what you're using

I sort of wondered about that too. Can’t recall if they initially said 0 - 0 - 0 in that BG screen for me or not, and since then I’ve just gone ahead into that screen and saved (without actually making changes), so now they have the mastery points breakdown per tab listed above my deck now.

But I see a bigger problem ahead (especially with other game modes potentially having their own saved setups).

Currently in BG, I don’t think there is a way/button to do “Reset my BG Masteries to Sync back up with my Standard Default Setup”.

If you’re someone who doesn’t necessarily care about having different settings (but did like me and just went in and Saved them anyways for no other reason than just peace of mind to ensure they weren’t all ZERO for BG), and now you go and upgrade some masteries in Normal Setup (or continue to add mastery points for those who were below Summoner Level 60 and continue to get more Points).
Now you have a problem in that you have to remember “oh, I also have to add that new mastery point over into BG also”. (As well as in other mastery load outs for other game areas in future).

If there was a (CLEAR CUSTOM BG MASTERY) option in BG, then BG would go back and just be Sync'd to use your Standard Setup (even if that Standard Setup evolves over time or not).
Maybe that's what the 0 - 0 - 0 could indicate. Or better yet, show a label like (“Sync'd with Main”) instead of showing the Off/Def/Util breakdown of your Main setup.
