Now it says I've claimed bronze one and am s3 but in a match it still says I'm bronze 1

    It is poorly designed, until you get used to looking at it the way they think you should be looking at it.

    You got Bronze 1 once you got the 2 medals earlier.
    Now (in some screens) it shows Silver-3 and 3 spots for medals. But you have not actually achieved Silver-3 yet, you are just on the Silver-3 racetrack, and don’t actually attain Silver-3 until you finish the 3 medal slots.
    So, right now, you are still bronze-1, on the path to Silver-3.

    Gets confusing when some screens show what you have achieved, and others show the path you are still yet to complete.
