Battlegrounds locked opponent can choose it anyway

So I was in battlegrounds and locked my opponents symbiod as you can clearly see he can pick him anyway even if he is locked. How can this be?

    This is supposedly a “known issue” and it was a problem last season too. Please remove the symbiote out of BG kabam! Those of us that want to play legitimately and not exploit the game are getting beyond frustrated with this nearly every match.
