Is despair bugged?

So i have 1 point in despair that is 5% heal reduction per debuff; now i was fighting a manthing the other day with knull and i know manthing is armor break immune so i started placing living abyss debuffs on him to reduce and ultimately reverse the heal but even after 30+ living abyss debuffs there was no change in the healing of manthing; and I’m well aware manthing doesn’t have any immunity to regen rate modification. So what am i missing?

I’ve noticed in BG’s despair doesn’t seem to matter. Even if I use quicker silver as an attacker with 100 whiplash debuffs. Doesn’t reverse regen.

Despair is not working. I have 2/3 so should shut down regen at 10 debuffs but it’s not.

Just my perspective (I may be wrong though; anyone can correct me)
Living Abyss Debuffs may be just debuffs which doesn't have any effect whatsoever for any calculations
but the converted Armor Breaks from these count as actual debuffs for the Despair to get triggered
(Examples: Placebo Buff, Loa, ...)
But tbh, there is no clear explanation about this debuff's interaction in the Champ Abilities

It seems to be working against non pvp match ups though. Must be something with the recovery mastery.

Despair reduces regen rate by 100% flat at max

But recovery means people have 115% regen rate, so at max you can only reduce it to 15% of what the regen would be doing. (115% -100% = 15%)

Add in the Bg node that gives extra 150% healing and this is likely why people don’t think despair is working properly.

But there is no mention about it that despair is capped at 100%

It doesn't mention that, but it has always been the case. The description definitely should be updated. Despair alone can at most prevent healing, you need a petrify debuff, or the petrify mastery, or something similar to reverse it

Yea that makes sense, but shouldn’t it atleast reduce something?shouldn’t it be half as effective?
