Always wondered why... put the level cap up to 100 and put items as prizes for each level. They could do relics now. Or sig stones. Or shards... doesn't have to be masteries. Useless xp masteries and xp boosts once you hit 60. Besides using for item use event fodder.

First off, why? What does a higher level really achieve? We wouldn't get more mastery points or energy, the entire game is balanced around the current cap.
Second, this would really hurt anyone who already explored the story. They would never level up unless they went back to act 4 and grinded xp for the next year. The point of the leveling system is that you increase as you clear content (especially the story acts), but if the content is already done, reaching the new cap would be a nightmare.
I would rather see a system where xp is still tracked after 60, and you get a small package of rewards every million xp, or something like that. Then there's still a benefit for earning it, but not really a huge loss to have missed out on all the story xp
