Tigra can not missed against Man-Thing special 1

When I play Tigra against Man-Thing in GC, battleground, I can not miss Man-Thing specials 1. As far as I know, Tigra miss can be prevented if affected with weakness, slow, or exhaustion debuff, which I only inflicted with poison debuff in said match. Can anyone tell me what went wrong? Thank you.
