Stagering opponents without having a stagger and parry not working

i just faced a weird bug while playing BG where i couldn't stun the opponent even though it showed the parry wording, then weirdly enough i had no staggers on the same opponent but somehow nullified all their armor debuffs and it showed me that i staggered and the nullified them. I don't know if other people have had this bug before or not but it seems to happen often to me. especially the weird stagger bug, which did win me some matches i wasn't supposed to win tbh.
