Human torch is the science champ. The science champ!
No one can do what HT do against mystic champs and against energy dealing champs like Nimrod...!!
But yeah, he lacks immunities which Scorpion has.
You can r3/r4/r5 scorpion if you want!

Firstly, many congrats on an amazing pull.

Secondly, regarding your question about HT vs Scorpion, like @Amanda_Cruze said, both HT & Scorpion very unique, no one work on Mystic and energy based like HT (he is also every easy to use). At the same time no champs right now is like Scorpion, the ability to selection Debuff and Debuff immunity is so valuable, and Scorpion is the only champs immune of Rupture right now.

Both does something the other doesn't do, so have them both ranked up will be a great thing for anyone roster.

Thirdly, in regarding to using Scorpion. Mainly doing MLM combo with a few Heavy inbetween and spam your SP1.

For against Regeneration champs (and your Scorpion is awaken), then work toward a SP2. Once you comfortable with all of that then you can try out Holding Heavy and change into SPs.

Honestly they both are, HT is easier to use (not to say the Scorpion is hard to use), but I would recommend ranking them both up when you can, they will help so much in so many content. HT & Scorpion is pretty much on the top 3 Science. So you are doing to have them both.

RE: Launching Scorpions SP2 *while* still actively charging his Heavy.

Has this been something (in general, before Scorpion) that you could always do in game ?

I always thought that touching the screen in 2 different places at same time would NOT work. As in the existing touch, while still actively touching, would disable any registering of other touches elsewhere.

Although there is the holding block, while then swiping back to evade further, keeping block held all along too. After the swipe back, you automatically go back into the block.
Which did NOT always used to do that. Think I first saw that starting to do that in the last couple years (?)
Prior to that, swiping back (ie, with right hand on right side of screen) while holding block (with left side), your block used to go away after the evade was finished.
So, don’t know if this “launch SP while charging Heavy” had become available to do around the same time or not ? Or was it available even prior to that point ?

As for Scorpion, that's one of his uses that if you get accustomed to, could be very beneficial.

I’d personally say take human torch to rank 3 first, but scorpion to r4 when able. Torch can melt anything, especially mystics, at r3.

But I do find myself using scorpion more in later content, especially his unique rupture immunities.
