Buffs + Simplicity + Balance

In last 2 days I've seen some players (on the forums & in line chats) saying that all buffs can't be good or appealing bcoz some champs need to be kept simple in their rotation
I've also seen them saying that not all buffs can make a champion get to the top

I have just a few words to say to those players

Venom
Angela
Red Hulk
She Hulk
Kingpin
Ultron
Bishop
Storm
White Magneto

All.of these champs I listed above
- received buffs
- are not perceived to be at the top (except Kingpin)
- have some of the simplest / easiest rotations in the game....most of these are just parry > combo > special attack champions with a few extra things here & there
- offer some good to great pieces of utility & damage output without hampering with the game "balance"
- are liked (in some cases loved) by most of the MCOC community

Agree to an extent. Buffs should at the very LEAST fulfill a niche that is not occupied by many other champions/if any at all. Like how both mags became insane for robot champs, Bishop for skill purify champs (a counter to this wasn't as common at the time of his buff), White mags also with prefights, Angela with potential of becoming damaging debuff immune at high sig, Venom being anti-spidey evade (also wasn't common at the time of his buff) etc.

Buffing a champ to give them another slow or suppression or some other generic debuff that doesn't help at all at endgame content (especially when there are tons of BETTER champs that offer this utility) makes the buff futile. That's why hulk's buff could be good. An EXTREMELY long stun off the specials is something very few other champs provide. Same with the almost permanent unstoppable for Juggs' buff, which is another piece of utility very few champs offer.

Mags, Colossus, HB, Diablo, Storm, Hood, Reed, HTD, Black Panther, Juggs … there have been a ton of really good buffs. Those are just off the top of my head.

I agree and Storm is a really good example. She’s simple, useful and certainly not a threat to unbalance the meta of early game play. I don’t use her often but I do sometimes and if my kids ( who are Conquerer and Proven) pulled her I’d tell them she can be useful to them. She also got a modest VFX update that really made her feel fresh and up to date. She’s a good target for buffing these very early champs.

Agreed, and I'm going to suggest adding a few to your list:

    Punisher-2099
    Falcon
    Colossus
    Hulkbuster
    War Machine
    Yellowjacket
    Gamora 3.0

(I can see Rocket making the list too, potentially, but too soon to say)

All simple and low stress to play. Arguably WM has a complicated/long ramp-up, but it's rarely required to actually use it. And there are many other good buffs (She-Hulk, Hood, Rags, etc) that are good but a bit tricky to maximise to be put in the 'simple rotation' list.

A contrasting example of a decent buff idea that's ruined by the rotation is Civil Warrior. He's got a decent kit, good power control and access to really impressive damage. But actually accessing that damage forces you into a restrictive and repetitive playstyle which I suspect very few people actually enjoy.

Yeah... sometimes I look at my Civil Warrior, consider taking him out for a spin then remember just how stressful keeping his damage up is

I don't try to keep the Furies, I just keep swinging and have more fun that way.
