Where are all the T1 Alphas?

I remember a time when I was inundated with T1A and sold them for the gold. I use to have piles of them. Once Kabam decided to give you 180 T2A shards when you sell them, they reduced the drop rate or something. Every rank up seems to need T1A and yet the opportunity to get them has greatly reduced.
