Are there abilities we value in the classic/meme champions?

What abilities do we value in the classic/meme champions?

I've been thinking about this on and off since the initial Hood buff led to a major display of unhappiness when the team 'buffed' him but removed his Fate Seal.

He was a 'stronger' champion, but had lost a very specific and uncommon piece of utility. @Cat_Murdock and others protested, and Kabam (to give them credit) listened, re-evaluated and eventually redesigned him.

Then there was the Guillotine buff where she lost her %-based Health damage on SP3 and her powerful (but erratic) Life Steal in favour of a very slow SP3 degeneration, and an absurdly slow and unappealing 3% perma-Life Steal. The team didn't listen on that one, I'm afraid.

Now I see the classic Spidey buff looks to be taking away the one piece of offensive utility he has: his Armour Break.

For those who hadn't noticed, Classic Spidey is the only Science champs who can inflict Armour Break without a synergy. Cap IW and Red Hulk can also do it, with synergy partners.

Occasionally it's useful to be able to Armour Break at will. Like during the last cycle of Battlegrounds (Armour = Power Burn), for example. How much would it bother people for Spidey to lose this ability? Does anyone actually use him to armour break things? Does anyone care?

There's not a lot of Mystics who Armour break, either - what about if Iron Fist lost his Armour break ability?

What about Thor?

What if Scarlet Witch lost her Nullify?

What if Electro lost his static shock?

What if Daredevil lost his perfect evasion?

Maybe people care about some of these things, maybe we don't. I just thought this thread could be an opportunity for people to express those things they actually value about classic/meme champs who are still (we presume) awaiting their turn on the buff program.

Those of us who've ranked them up: what piece of utility or design needs to stay?

Example#1: Ronan. He's got access to one of the best and most reliable Stun-Locks in the game. I don't think I'm giving away any secrets here: the game designers are well aware of what he can do.
I've got a 5/65 Awakened Ronan, and that occasional piece of utility is the only reason he got ranked up. If he got a buff that took it away and turned him into a fairly vanilla Cosmic champ, I'd be less than happy, because my roster would have lost a useful bit of utility (even if one of my champions became, arguably, a bit better).

Example#2: Moon Knight. It's not necessarily all that useful or practical, but I love the way his abilities vary through the month. I'd hate it if his redesign took away this colourful aspect of his kit. Even if there are times on defense when he lays into me after an unexpected New Moon Evade and I find myself wishing I'd done that path a week earlier (does this happen to anyone else?)

So what do you guys value about the older champs? Are there older champs you think people should take a second look at? And what do you want the buff designers to leave alone, before complaining that it's gone?

The base 40/30% perfect block chance for Cap America/WWII + WWII 90% perfect block when opponents have a buff

I could not disagree with Moon Knight more. I get the mechanic and agree that it's cool and flavourful. However, I find it too much too ask of a player to mentally keep track of with everything going on in the game and all the champions abilities that already exist. Not that Moon Knight is a great champ anyways but it very much encourages me to continue to invest and use other champions.

Sym Supreme I think has bee forgotten about little. One of the the OG 6.2 Champion killers.

I love using him to destroy the likes of Gorr, Hulkling, and Sersi when people put them on Safeguard node in war

I think some people have forgotten what he can do.

Also love breakingout Killmonger spam SP2 for invincibilty and Void for heal block/power control from time to time

Void, Killmonger, & Sabretooth is actually a reasonable synergy trio.

Dormmamu has the best combat power control in the game, bar none. He doesn’t need a special to access it, he doesn’t need to dance around and wait for it to proc. He just needs to throw MM combos, and the opponent will never gain power. It’s genuinely wild utility and extremely useful against opponents who punish you when they get to even an sp1 (like Magik’s Limbo or P2099 pounding into your block).

Unfortunately it takes 1000 years to take down any meaningful health pools with him.

Another champ I love is Psylocke. She just needs her horseman ability in her base kit and you’ve got a winner without making her game breaking. Also, she’s one of the best Terrax counters in the game. Turns that man into an absolute potato.
