I became cavalier.. what now?

So I know there is still alot if content fir me to cover up n my act 5 n act 4 are totally unexplored but still how am I supposed to proceed in the game from a farsighted n a monthly pov...n what all am I supposed to have achieved in the game before I proceed towards becoming thronebreaker...
Please advice!

Also suggest some characters I should upgrade n some characters that would be gud for me to add to my roster
