Did Blade just prevent Recoil Masteries?

Sorry, I don't have screenshots. But take my word for it: I just had this battle as I was grinding arenas:

In the first fight, my opponent had Liquid courage + Double Edge running, so I thought 'okay, that'll make this quicker. Permanent Power Gain for Blade in the next fight'...

Then my second fight was Blade Vs Ebony, and the LC/DE debuffs didn't trigger. 'That's odd." I thought. 'Didn't he have debuffs last time? I was looking forwards to getting all that Power because he was bleeding....'

Third fight, and they were back again. So I decided to at least capture an image of the arena, and see if anyone else had observed this.

Has anyone else run into this? I can't see any synergies that would be active. So did Danger Sense prevent my opponent's Recoil Masteries from triggering?

I'm assuming suicides, just like all masteries is an ability and the aar can prevent form activating. And since blades AAR can bypass immunities, it did so .

Also, suicides could be removed with strikers back during their trial run

Interesting! It’s similar to magneto sometimes - when you parry him at the begin of the fight, you can bypass being magnetized.

When suicides being treated as normal abilities of the defender then yes, that’s probably the reason. But nonetheless it’s feels weird that that’s the case

Did the defender take their usual recoil damage from special attacks tho?

Try dueling that person with blade again and see.
